On the brink of the release of her new memoir, it was revealed that Kara DioGuardi was molested and later date raped by a music producer.
In Helluva High Note, the former ?American Idol? judge admitted that she was repeatedly molested by a teenage family friend when she was 11 years old.
Then, just as her music career began to take off in 2000, DioGuardi says she was date raped by a ?fairly known producer? following a friendly dinner.
?[W]ithin a few hours, he was on top of me, pumping, sweating, and speaking to me in Spanish, not a word of which I could understand,? she recalled.
Kara said she never revealed what had happened because she feared the consequences it could have on her professional life.
