Doing her part to help those in need, Shakira made a trip to the Elie Dubois School in Port-au-Prince on Thursday (March 31).
The Colombian singer aided in the efforts to start the reconstruction of the school, which was devastated by the catastrophic earthquake back in January of 2010.
According to AP reports, the 34-year-old laughed and danced about with students to the sounds of "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" during her visit to Elie Dubois.
Shakira's efforts didn't stop there - her Barefoot Foundation, which helps child victims of violence and disasters, donated a whopping $400,000 to restore the damaged high school.

Gisele Bundchen was back at Tracy Anderson's LA gym today getting serious about her fitness on April Fools' Day. The supermodel is the latest fitness-focused celebrity to try Tracy's dance aerobics routine that Nicole Richie can't get enough of and Jessica Simpson's using to get ready for her big wedding day. Gisele and Tom's own wedding is back in the news with new reports that the security team that was hired during their 2009 Costa Rican nuptials will go to trial for taking extreme measures against trespassers. Meanwhile, Gisele and Tom, who will celebrate their second wedding anniversary on Tuesday, seem to be enjoying their time on the West Coast while he patiently waits for the NFL lockout to be resolved.

Billy Joel is keeping his memories to himself.
Three years after signing a $3 million deal with Harper Collins to write his memoir, the "We Didn't Start the Fire" singer has decided not to publish The Book of Joel.
In a statement on his website, the piano man says: "It took working on writing a book to make me realize that I'm not all that interested in talking about the past, and that the best expression of my life and its ups and downs has been and remains my music."
Joel plans to return the portion of the advance he received from the publishing company.
It's interesting that Joel decided not to publish the memoir now -- after it's already been written. But with his colorful past of failed marriages and alleged substance abuse problems, as well as his daughter's recent emotional issues, it's possible it was all too personal to put out into the world. And we think it's pretty admirable that Joel chose not sell out for cash.
